Human trafficking is a major public health problem, both domestically and internationally. Healthcare providers are often the only professionals to interact with trafficking victims who are still in captivity. Recent studies have demonstrated that up to 50% of trafficking victims in the United States were seen by healthcare professionals while in captivity and were not identified. This course will help guide healthcare professionals to identify human trafficking victims when they present in the clinical setting.

Leukemia is a heterogeneous group of hematologic malignancies that arise from the dysfunctional proliferation of developing leukocytes. It is classified as either acute or chronic and as myelocytic or lymphocytic. Treatment depends on the type of leukemia but generally involves chemotherapy. This activity reviews the evaluation and treatment of leukemia and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in evaluating and treating patients with this condition.

 A high risk headache is any new and sudden onset, typically severe, headache with the potential to cause damage to cerebral or precerebral structures or functions. Medical professionals including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, therapists and other members of the healthcare team require ongoing education pertaining to the recognition, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with neurologic disorders. This educational intervention is designed to address the identified gaps for sports related orthopedic injuries. The online format will allow for convenient access and thus reach a broad audience of medical professionals. Colorado has a very active community with people of all ages participating in several types of sports. It is not uncommon for someone to be injured to the degree EMS is called to respond. This CME will review some of the most common sports injuries and the patterns of injury EMS should consider.

Melanoma is the third most common cutaneous malignancy after basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Melanoma is the fifth most common malignancy in males and the sixth most common malignancy in females. The treatment modalities currently used for melanoma include surgery, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and chemotherapy. This activity highlights the role of interprofessional team in caring for patients with melanoma.

Pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS) is a common cause of chronic pelvic pain in women of reproductive age. Pain that is intermittent or constant lasting for 3-6 months, present in the pelvic or abdominal region, occurring throughout the menstrual cycle, and without any association with pregnancy is chronic pelvic pain. This activity outlines the evaluation and management of pelvic congestion syndrome and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in the care of patients with this condition.
