This activity will review management of the burn patient in an acute setting. Participants will review burn depth and associated degree, emergency management, fluid resuscitation, as well as transfer criteria for EMS, transport considerations. This presentation includes case studies of burn reconstructive cases, as well as other in-depth reconstructive cases in the clinic setting.

This activity will provide an intensive, practical focus on evidence-based approaches to cardiac case management for the EMS provider. Melanoma is the third most common cutaneous malignancy after basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Melanoma is the fifth most common malignancy in males and the sixth most common malignancy in females. The treatment modalities currently used for melanoma include surgery, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and chemotherapy. This activity highlights the role of interprofessional team in caring for patients with melanoma.

Diabetes poses a major healthcare challenge given its rising prevalence, cost, and risk of chronic complications and co-morbidities. Participants will learn how to read EKG results to provide a differential diagnosis to evaluate and manage patients in the field prior to transport to the emergency department.
