Aaron Kusano
Dr. Aaron Kusano is a born and raised Alaskan and product of the distinguished Alaska WWAMI program, a collaborative medical school with the University of Washington School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine where he also completed his training in radiation oncology. Following his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, he received a Masters degree in cancer epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health.
During medical school, he took a year o to participate in a year-long fellowship in applied epidemiology at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, GA and broadened his experience in public health. Dr. Kusano has published numerous research articles and has spoken at national conferences about quality and safety in radiation oncology as well as the importance of patient communication in cancer care. He continues to be an active mentor to students interested in health careers and maintains a faculty appointment with the University of Washington Department of Radiation Oncology as well as teaching within the Alaska WWAMI Program. He is ecstatic to live in and contribute to the Alaska community, providing compassionate care of the highest quality to Alaskans. He currently serves as Medical Director as well as head of Anchorage and Valley Radiation Therapy Center’s brachytherapy program.
