Dr. Hill is a double board-certified physician in emergency medicine and emergency medical services at the Medical Center of Aurora where he is the EMS Medical Director and immediate past Chair of Emergency Medicine.  He is the Medical Director for Aurora Fire Rescue, Falck Rocky Mountain, and several other Fire/EMS agencies in Colorado.  In addition to his interest in EMS, Dr. Hill has expertise in disaster medicine and has several deployments as a Medical Officer on the CO-2 Disaster Medical Assistance Team.

Dr. Hill earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and kinesiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA, and then completed his residency training in emergency medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.  Dr. Hill was honorably discharged after 7 years on active duty with the US Army at the rank of Major.  While on active duty he was deployed for 10 months to the Iraq war in 2009-2010 as the Brigade Surgeon for the 2^nd Brigade Combat Team, 10^th Mountain Division.

Dr. Hill has been a volunteer with Team Rubicon since 2015.  In 2018 he was asked to join the international medical team with Team Rubicon and to take on a volunteer leadership role as the Northwest Territory Medical Director.  Since that time, his role has transitioned to the Medical Lead for the Western Branch of Team Rubicon.  In this capacity he assists Team Rubicon with recruitment and vetting of medical professionals, assists with mission reviews, trains volunteers to work in austere environments, reviews team formularies and team equipment, among other tasks.  Dr. Hill was the lead physician on the recon team into Haiti after the earthquake in August 2021.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Hill was a firefighter and paramedic in Colorado and worked for 3 fire departments in Boulder County for 7 years.  He was a very active volunteer during his years working in EMS with the American Red Cross and several other volunteer organizations.
