Activity Description:

 This is a virtual CME‐certified educational intervention designed to address the identified gaps in the care of the acute burn patient. This virtual format allows for convenient access and thus reaches a broad audience of medical professionals.  The critically injured burn patient may present with assessment and treatment challenges in the prehospital setting. Through these activities, clinicians will attain evidence‐based knowledge for the recognition, evaluation and management of the acute burn patient.

Target Audience: 

Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistance, Residents, Medical Students, Emergency Medical Services

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and discuss treatment of the acute burn patient in the prehospital setting.
  • Apply the prehospital fluid resuscitation guidelines to the acutely injured burn patient.
  • Determine TBSA and burn depth in the prehospital setting.
  • Practice applying this knowledge to the pre-hospital setting through case study presentations-let's keep this one
