Activity Description:

This session provides an evidence-based deep dive into the critical minutes following traumatic injury, focusing on the physiological transition from "clear fluids" to "balanced resuscitation." Participants will evaluate the latest clinical standards for managing hemorrhagic shock, emphasizing the early identification of coagulopathy and the strategic reversal of anticoagulation in the prehospital environment. 

Target Audience: 

CME activities are designed to serve the professional and educational needs of physicians.  The target audience is Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Paramedics, Pre-Hospital Clinicians, Medical First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Air-Ground Ambulance Services, and Service Line Representatives. 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Able to identify the evaluation and rapid assessment in the initial resuscitation of shock. 
  2. List fluid resuscitations differences associated with neurogenic, hemorrhagic, and septic shock.
  3. Identify differences in colloid and crystalloid resuscitation.
  4. Determine the appropriate use of TXA.
