Activity Description:
This presentation will provide healthcare professionals with the latest advancements in the fields of solid organ transplantation, specifically liver and kidney transplants, as well as cutting-edge techniques in hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery. The session will cover novel surgical approaches, innovations in immunosuppressive therapy, and advancements in post-operative care that enhance patient outcomes. Additionally, attendees will gain insight into the management of complex transplant patients and the evolving role of minimally invasive surgery in HPB procedures. Through case-based discussions and expert insights, this presentation aims to equip practitioners with the knowledge to improve clinical decision-making in transplantation and HPB surgery. The session will also highlight the multidisciplinary approach to patient management, focusing on collaboration between surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, medical oncologists, hospitalists, and allied healthcare providers.

This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.
Learning Objectives:
- Review the latest innovations in liver and kidney transplantation including use of machine perfusion devices.
- Analyze data for use of novel therapies in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary malignancies including immunotherapy, hepatic artery infusion pumps, liver directed therapies, and transplant oncology.
- Summarize the role of minimally invasive surgery/Robotic surgery and perioperative Enhanced Recovery after Surgery (ERAS) protocols in both Transplant Surgery and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery/Complex Surgical Oncology.
