Activity Description:

This series will focus on evidence-based approaches to outreach, emergency, and clinical care of the burn-injured patient. Highlights will include prevalence of burn injuries, different types of burn injuries, presentations, and severity with emphasis on recent advances in diagnosis and treatment. Learners will gain competence in their approach to clinical problem-solving, apply newly acquired strategies in their practice, and improve their performance in order to provide evidence-based and patient-centered care. 

Target Audience: 

Physicians, Nurses, MAs, Technicians, EMS, Paramedic, Fire both within HCA HealthONE and external.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify, diagnose, manage burn care, and treatment plans from evidence based guidelines.  
  • Review burn injury mechanism, emergent management, and specific treatments.
  • Examine medical and ethical issues to improve the health and healthcare outcome of patients and the community.
