Activity Description:

Continuous education needs of EMS staff to keep current on management and assessment of various medical problems that can/will happen. Discuss up to the minute EMS news, review articles and utilize best practices in managing urgent care and critical patients. Increase knowledge for all EMS staff on situations that have occurred and to increase health care providers awareness on guidelines and procedures.

Target Audience: 

The primary target audience for this CME activity is faculty, residents, students, invited guests and other healthcare professionals practicing in the HealthONE Health System.

Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss the pathophysiology of common diseases in newborn infants
2. Describe the diagnostic approach used to identify and determine the severity of these illnesses
3. Discuss the treatment strategies used for these disease and the medical evidence supporting their use.
