Activity Description:

This activity explores the global response to human trafficking since 2000 and highlights the healthcare system's role in addressing this issue through identification, management, and prevention of suspected cases using a multidisciplinary approach. As trafficking methods continue to evolve in scope and reach, healthcare and community systems must also adapt their strategies. The session emphasizes the need for ongoing awareness, collaboration, and innovation to effectively combat human trafficking.

Target Audience: 

This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians, and residents.

Learning Objectives:

  • Summarize 25 years of global efforts to combat human trafficking.
  • Describe the healthcare system's role in identifying, managing, and preventing suspected cases.
  • Discuss evolving trafficking methods and technology-driven prevention strategies.
