New Sports Medicine Injuries in time of COVID

COVID19 has altered both the participation in and return to sport behavior among the young athlete.  The educational intervention will review the the optimization of a safe return to sports after time off due to injury or illness.  Additionally the care of the pediatric trauma patient related to injuries sustained during recreation, will be examined.  

Target Audience

The target audience consists of physicians, athletic trainers, physical therapists, physician assistants , EMS personnel, nurses and all those involved in the care of pediatric athletes.  

Learning Objectives

  • Describe trends in ortho/sports injury during COVID 19 Era
  • Explain CO reopening of youth sports
  • Examine the role of deconditioning in potential for injury
  • Review requirements for Colorado PPE in COVID time
