Activity Description:

Please join us in partnership with the Weber-Morgan Health Department to discuss trends, diagnosis and prevention of vaccine preventable diseases, such as measles. We’ll review the current situation of measles activity being seen through various lenses and discuss possible contributing factors or trends in the rise in measles cases recently. We’ll explore available resources, tools, and recommendations for testing and diagnosis of measles for providers and healthcare facilities on the front lines. Most importantly, we’ll review how you can help your clients and community prevent vaccine preventable disease and outbreaks from occurring by looking at vaccine recommendations, services and resources available through Weber-Morgan Health Department and our medical community partners. Target Audience: 

This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify potential factors in the recent rise of measles cases
  •  Discuss the resources available to providers for guidance and help with measles testing
  • Apply guidance and education on MMR vaccination to patients, and provide additional community resources for reliable vaccine information services
