Activity Description:

This recurring educational activity provides a multidisciplinary forum for reviewing complex cardiothoracic surgical cases. The goal is to enhance clinical decision-making, improve perioperative management, and promote evidence-based practices in pediatric and adult cardiothoracic surgery. Participants will engage in case-based discussions, review imaging and operative strategies, and address complications and outcomes. The conference fosters collaboration among surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, neonatologists, perfusionists, nursing, and other staff to optimize patient care.

Target Audience:

Cardiothoracic surgeons, Intensivists, Cardiologists, Anesthesiologists, Perfusionists, Advanced practice providers (NPs and PAs), Nurses, RTs, Genetic Counselor, Patient Navigators, Echo sonographers, and Pharmacists

Learning Objective:

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

•    Conduct multidisciplinary reviews of cardiothoracic surgical cases to support collaborative surgical planning.
•     Evaluate patient history and imaging to inform operative strategy and anticipate potential complications.
•    Evaluate proposed surgical plans during case review and articulate potential risks, complications, and contingency approaches based on team discussion.
•    Strengthen interdisciplinary communication to enhance perioperative decision-making and patient outcomes.
