Activity Description:

Address standards of care issues and educate physicians on best practices. Facilitate inter-professional collaboration, discussion, and evidence-based case review related to clinical indications for surgery, treatment plans, and interventions for patients with orthopaedic injuries and conditions. Provide updates in technology, evidence based medicine and review past cases for improvements in patient outcomes. 

Target Audience:

This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:

1. Describe new techniques and strategies in orthopedic surgery
2. Examine and critique information presented on both recognized and innovative management practices for orthopedic patients
3. Discuss the management and care of fractures and decision making skills for diagnosis and treatment
4. Review and discuss current guidelines and journal articles in order to provide optimal care for patients
