Activity Description:

Preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) is a critical obstetric condition with significant maternal and neonatal implications. This Grand Rounds session will explore the infectious etiology of PPROM, the rationale for considering these patients as infected, and management strategies. Participants will enhance their ability to diagnose, assess risk, and implement effective treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.

Target Audience: 

This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.

Learning Objectives:

• Analyze the infectious etiology of preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) and their impact on patient management.
• Evaluate why patients with preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) are considered infected and its clinical significance.
• Apply an evidence-based approach to managing preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) for optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes.
