This presentation will outline the characteristics and advantages of implantable neurostimulator devices in the management of severe chronic refractory pain. This course is designed to review the etiologies and work-up of ischemic stroke in young adults. Primary focus will be on risk factors for young adults (18-55 years old) and special populations, review of different etiologies, and presentation in special populations. This activity will help providers understand the role of the neurosurgeon in caring for patients with brain tumors. Participants will review the clinically-salient elements of brain tumor biology, learn about new techniques and technologies, particularly brain mapping, relevant to improving functional outcomes for brain tumor patients, as well as the role of laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) in patients with new and recurrent brain tumors.

This activity will provide learners a brief history of Functional Neurologic Disorder, including the evolution of diagnosis and treatment of these patients. Learners will review epidemiology, predisposing factors, precipitating factors, perpetuating factors, genetic factors, etiology, pathophysiology, and neural mechanisms of FND. This includes a breakdown of various Functional Neurologic Disorders, their presentations, how to utilize neuroimaging for diagnosis, and various treatment options for each disorder discussed.
