William Hammond, MD, MSc

Dr. William Hammond is an American Board of Surgery board-certified general surgeon and board-eligible pediatric surgeon practicing at East Falls Pediatric Surgery in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Dr. Hammond graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Physiology emphasis) from California State University, Long Beach, before earning his Master of Science in Biochemistry, also from California State University, Long Beach, with graduate honors. He completed his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Hammond pursued his general surgery residency at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City, followed by a pediatric surgery fellowship at the University of Calgary/Alberta Children’s Hospital in Alberta, Canada. He further specialized with a pediatric surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
Dr. Hammond chose pediatric surgery because of its profound and lasting impact on children and their families, as well as the technical precision and problem-solving required in this field. He is particularly passionate about advancing minimally invasive techniques and oncologic care for pediatric patients, offering cutting-edge solutions that prioritize patient safety and comfort. His excellence in surgical care distinguishes him in his field.

When Dr. Hammond is away from the office, he enjoys skiing, surfing, hiking, and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoys baseball — having played up into the collegiate level.
