Dr. Maria Munoz, MD, is a Family Medicine Physician in South Texas. She serves as the Assistant Dean of Clerkships at UTRGV School of Medicine and is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine with more than 17 years of educational experience. She was the Clerkship Director and Associate Program Director, at the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), Family Medicine Residency for 3 years, and has dedicated 14 years to training medical students. Prior to joining UTRGV, Dr. Munoz worked at Su Clinica Familiar in Brownsville, where she taught learners at the graduate and undergraduate levels. While she was the Associate Program Director, Dr. Munoz instituted the Family Medicine Research Symposium where residents showcased their Quality Improvement Projects. Dr. Munoz is interested in curriculum development and has developed curriculum in personal finance, autism, clinical skills and end of life.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and writing children’s books.
