Arnav Kumar, MD, MSCR
Dr. Arnav Kumar is an interventional cardiologist with expertise in structural heart valve interventions. He completed a two-year interventional cardiology and structural heart disease fellowship at the Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His clinical practice focuses on advanced and complex cardiac procedures, including Impella-assisted percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), imaging- and physiology-guided revascularization, cutting-edge techniques for chronic total occlusion (CTO-PCI), and catheter-based therapies for intricate valvular and structural heart conditions such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and mitral valve interventions.
Dr. Kumar’s research centers around mathematical and computational fluid dynamic modeling to understand vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques. He was honored with The William Parmley Young Author Achievement Award from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) for developing a predictive cardiac-imaging-based computational model for heart attacks. Over the last five years, he authored more than 200 manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters. Dr. Kumar has held leadership roles in the ACC's Fellow-in-training Leadership Council, the FiRST committee of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, and the publications committee of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He regularly reviews manuscripts for high-impact journals and has extensive experience in reviewing guidelines, data standards, and outcome-related manuscripts.
