Dr. Boris Sepesi, MD, FACS is a board-certified surgeon, certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery with expertise and experience in the comprehensive treatment of thoracic and upper gastrointestinal oncological diagnoses, specifically lung cancer, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, chest wall tumors, tracheal and airway tumors, thymomas, thymic carcinomas, mesothelioma and other thoracic oncological diagnoses. His unique training, knowledge and research interests in immunotherapy, targeted therapy, chemotherapy and clinical trials enable him to offer consultation and recommendations for multi-disciplinary perioperative therapy for complex thoracic oncologic diagnoses that require surgical management.

From surgical standpoint, Dr. Sepesi is highly experienced in all surgical techniques: minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery (VATS), robotic assisted thoracic surgery (RATS) as well as complex open surgical techniques for the surgical treatment of thoracic and upper gastrointestinal malignancies. He personalizes treatment, surgical decisions and patient care based on the symptoms, diagnosis, disease stage, disease extent, body type, and patients’ preferences to achieve the most optimal short-term and long-term outcomes and quality of life.

Along with his extensive expertise in the treatment of thoracic oncological diagnoses, he also manages patients with benign and infectious thoracic and esophageal diseases such as esophageal reflux disease, hiatal hernias, esophageal motility disorders, pleural infections, pneumothorax, or undiagnosed pulmonary nodules and ground glass opacities.
