Jens-Peter Witt, MD, PhD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon who specializes in treating a full range of spinal disorders using the most advanced minimally invasive technology and techniques. His expertise includes treatment of complex spine disorders, spinal revision surgery, spine reconstruction, spinal infections and primary and metastatic spinal tumors.

Born in Germany, Dr. Witt earned his medical degree from the University of Hannover Medical School in Hannover, Germany and where he also completed a trauma/orthopedic internship and residency. Upon relocating to the United States, Dr. Witt completed an internship in general surgery and residency in neurosurgery at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, CO. He then furthered his training with a clinical fellowship in spine surgery at Klinikum Karlsbad-Langensteinbach in Karlsruhe under Professor Harms, Germany. Dr. Witt has served the Denver community for the last two decades, earning a reputation for not only his clinical expertise and excellence, but also for his compassionate, tailored approach to treating each patient’s unique needs.

Dr. Witt is an internationally recognized leader in complex neurosurgical spine surgery as well as endoscopic spine surgery. He has been awarded Best Doctor for Executives by the Denver Business Journal, and as a 5280 Top Doc in Acute Spinal Cord Injury Medicine. Besides providing direct patient care, Dr. Witt is active in national and international societies and has helped develop guidelines for treatments in spinal disorders. He also remains active in training future neurosurgical leaders, research and has been published extensively.
