Sleiman El Jamal, MD, FAHA, DABOM

Sleiman El Jamal, MD, is a neurologist who specializes in vascular neurology. Dr. El Jamal completed his vascular neurology fellowship at Emory University Hospital/Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and his neurology residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. He is a consulting neurohospitalist at the HCA Houston Northwest Hospital where he is also the medical director of inpatient neurology. He is currently a fellow of the American Heart Association and most recently a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
Passionate about education, Dr. El Jamal has been awarded the AB Baker Teaching Recognition Award by the American Academy of Neurology. He was the previous neurology clerkship and advanced elective/subI director at Brown University Medical Center. Dr. El Jamal is actively a peer review editor with multiple journals. His research interests include carotid webs and their relationship to stroke, the role of cocaine and ischemic stroke of younger adults, and medical education of vascular ischemic disorders to medical students and residents. Dr. El Jamal speaks French, Armenian, English and Arabic.
