Dr. Omar Hameed, MD is the MidAmerica Pathology Division Medical Director for HPS. In 2018, he came from Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was Professor and Vice Chair of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology, Executive Medical Director and Division Director of Anatomic Pathology. Dr. Hameed completed his medical and pathology education/training in Iraq, Jordan and at the Washington University in St. Louis, MO. His surgical pathology interest and expertise is primarily in breast pathology and in genitourinary pathology and has published around 100 peer reviewed articles, reviews, books and book chapters predominantly in these two fields. He has also served as an invited speaker and/or visiting professor at multiple locations in the US and abroad.
