Activity Description:

As clinical practice guidelines are created and/or updated for the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute, individual meetings will be held for educational purposes. Specific treatment guidelines will be reviewed during each meeting, with supporting data provided. Open discussion will be encouraged.

At this meeting, participants will review and provide education around new and updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Treatment Guidelines (TXGs) applicable to CBCI.

Target Audience: 

CBCI providers (physicians and APPs) and nurses who care for CBCI patients.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Utilize Stem Cell Boosts and new treatment guideline and order sets.
  2. Recognize what it means to be a part of the Radiation Treatment Injury Network as Transplant Center to manage Acute Radiation Syndrome.
  3. Identify the proper cadence for grading of acute and chronic graft-versus-host disease. 
  4. Describe the requirements for urine toxicology screening prior to Allogenic Stem Cell Transplant and Bone Marrow Harvest.
  5. Summarize prevention and management of methotrexate toxicity and utilize the upcoming treatment guideline and order set changes.
