Stephen Strickland, MD, MSCI

Dr. Strickland received his Medical Doctorate from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed his Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Hematology Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) in Nashville, TN. He received a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation (MSCI) from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2010. He was a faculty member in the VUMC Division of Hematology/Oncology from 2008-2022 and during that time served as Clinical Director of Acute Leukemia and also as the Medical Director of Malignant Hematology and Stem Cell Transplant. Dr Strickland joined Sarah Cannon Research Institute in 2022 and provides scientific leadership of SCRI’s robust portfolio of clinical trials in leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, and related diseases. As executive chair of the Leukemia Research Executive Committee, Dr. Strickland provides oversight and develops strategy for the leukemia program. Additionally, he is an executive member of the Immune Effector Cell Therapy Research. In addition to his role with SCRI, Dr. Strickland serves as Leukemia Specialist for the Sarah Cannon Transplant & Cellular Therapy Program at TriStar Centennial in Nashville, TN.
