Devon Jackson, MS, NRP, CCEMPT

Devon Jackson is a Brunswick County, Virginia native and graduate of Brunswick Academy. Her formal educational background includes an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from SVCC, a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services Counseling with a minor in Community Health from ODU and a Master of Science Degree in Vocational Education from ECU. She holds numerous EMS, telecommunications, crisis intervention and peer support certifications from basic skills to field training to General Instructor to leadership, project management, and emergency management. She is the Director of Emergency Communications for the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office and one of two tactical medics for the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT). In December of 2021, she began serving in the role of Co Emergency Services Coordinator for Brunswick County.
Devon’s career in public safety spans over 25 years and began as a volunteer with Central Lifesaving and Rescue Squad in Gasburg, VA. While at Central, she achieved numerous certification to include Critical Care Paramedic, held several leadership roles, and assisted in securing thousands of dollars in funding for the organization through a multitude of grant writing efforts.
Devon’s career in emergency telecommunications began with Richmond Ambulance Authority as an emergency medical telecommunicator. She became the first E911 Coordinator (now Director of Emergency Communications) for Brunswick County in 2005 and has served the Sheriff’s Office in a full and part time capacity for nearly 20 years.
Devon also spent 8 years of her career with Air Methods Corporation where she served as the Regional Business Development Manager for VCU LifeEvac a medical helicopter program. She enjoys teaching across all emergency medical services and telecommunications disciplines as well as presenting at state and national conferences when the opportunity arises.
Devon and her husband, Scott live in South Hill with their daughters, Kaisley and Kyndall and their dog, Lyra Pearl.
