RESEARCH
Cardiology: 4/2008 – 2/2010 Reference: Habib Samady, MD
- Researched exploring shear stress/fluid dynamics in coronary atherosclerosis progression at Emory University Hospital. Primarily was involved in Virtual Histology-IVUS image processing. Gained insight to the spatial relation of atherosclerosis to LAD bifurcations leading me to my next project in coronary angiography.
- Queried Emory's contribution of the National Cardiovascular Database Registry from 2006 to 2008 for STEMI Angiograms. Completed quantitative coronary angiography (QCA) of native vessel STEMIs in over 380 patients. This has lead to several abstracts and two manuscripts looking at spatial distribution patterns of culprit lesions as it pertains to bifurcations/curvatures.
Infectious Diseases: 6/2001 - 8/2001 Reference: Rabih O. Darouich, MD
- Volunteer bench research at the VAMC-Houston/Baylor College of Medicine, exploring the pathogenesis of device-associated infections.
