Dr Shomaker trained at Wake Forest Medical Center for both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.  He's been a partner with Colorado Kidney Care for almost 20 years.  His recent interest since COVID times has included physician wellbeing and leadership development.  He has served as Mountain Ridge's Chief Wellness Officer since 2021 and has given many lectures and symposiums on all things physician wellness.  He has 2 teen boys at East High School and his family enjoys the usual Colorado outdoor activities including road cycling, golf and hiking.
