James Wall, MD

James Wall is a Clinical Professor of Pediatric Surgery at Stanford University who specializes in minimally invasive approaches to children’s surgery. He is a physician entrepreneur who has developed multiple health technologies from idea to commercialization. James is the former Director of the Stanford Biodesign Innovation Fellowship. His passion for building sustainable businesses that address the needs of underserved patients led him to become the founder of the Impact1 program at Stanford, focused on accelerating health technology development for pediatric, maternal, and fetal patients. The programs that he led at Stanford have been responsible for the development of health technologies that benefit millions of patients globally. James joined Intuitive Surgical in 2023 and now leads product, innovation, and clinical strategy for the da Vinci Multiport platform.
