Kimberly Pengel, MD, CAQ-SM

Dr. K. Brooke Pengel is a board-certified pediatric sports medicine physician with fellowship training in adolescent and youth sports medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth College and her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, then completed her pediatric residency and sports medicine fellowship at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Pengel has extensive experience caring for young athletes across a wide range of sports. She serves on the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee (SMAC) for the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA). She previously served on the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness, contributing to national policy development and published position statements focused on youth sports safety.
Her work has been recognized with multiple honors, including Channel 7’s Everyday Hero award, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers’ Association President’s Award, and designation as a 5280 Top Doctor. Dr. Pengel is committed to advancing evidence-based guidance, injury prevention, and safe participation for student-athletes across Colorado.
