Kenneth Wong, MBChB(Edin), PhD(Lond), FRCSEd(Paed), FHKAM(Surgery)

Prof. Kenneth Wong received medical degree from University of Edinburgh and his Ph.D degree in immunology at Imperial College. He is currently Li Shu-Pui Endowed
Professor in Surgery and Chief of Paediatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery, HKU.
He is an internationally renowned paediatric surgeon with clinical interests in neonatal surgery and advanced laparoscopic/ robotic thoracic surgery.
He has been co-project leader in “Laparoscopic Workshops for Paedaitric Surgeons in China” since 2007 and has helped train over 2500 Chinese paediatric surgeons. He has also hosted numerous minimally invasive surgery workshops in Hong Kong and is a Faculty member of IRCAD, Taiwan.
He and his team were awarded the Hospital Authority Outstanding team award for Neonatal Surgical Service in 2023 and the Heart in Action Award 2026 of Hong Kong West Cluster.
He has published over 280 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has an h-index of 54 with over 14000 citations. He serves as Founding Editor-in-Chief for JPS Open, and will take over as Editor-in-Chief for Journal of Pediatric Surgery in Jan 2027. He has been invited and given over 100 invited lectures worldwide.
Prof. Wong is past-President of Pacific Association of Pediatric Surgeons (PAPS) and Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons (AAPS) and Hong Kong Society of Paediatric Surgery (HKSPS).
