Dr. Sherman is an endocrinologist who has specialized in the care of patients with thyroid carcinoma.  For the past 33 years, he has been on faculty at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, serving as the Chair of the Department of Endocrine Neoplasia and Hormonal Disorders from 2000 until spring 2026.  His research has focused on a broad array of topics relevant to care of patients with thyroid cancer, including leading roles in clinical trials that led to FDA approvals of multiple drugs for these diseases.  He now works parttime, continuing his clinical practice focused on thyroid malignancies.
