Seerat Poonia was born and raised in Colorado. She obtained her undergraduate education at the University of Colorado, Boulder completing degrees in Biology and Psychology. She then completed an Intramural Research Training Award at the NIH in Bethesda, working on Hepatitis C treatment trials within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. She returned home for medical school at the University of Colorado, Anschutz and went on to complete Otorhinolaryngology residency at the University of Pennsylvania and Head and Neck Cancer/Reconstructive fellowship at the University of Miami. She recently started her practice with The Head and Neck Surgical Specialty Group in Denver, Colorado. Her clinical interests include cancer ablation, microvascular reconstruction, transoral robotic surgery and endocrine surgery and her non-clinical pursuits include quality improvement and leadership development.
