Dr. Russell B. Smith, MD is a head and neck surgeon with extensive experience in ablative surgery for neoplastic disease of the head and neck.  He is currently Medical Director for Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery at AdventHealth.  He is a major proponent of surgeon performed point of care ultrasound in head and neck surgery.  He is the Vice Chair of Education for the National Ultrasound Faculty of the American College of Surgeon and Co-Director of the American College of Surgeons Thyroid, Parathyroid, and Neck Ultrasound course.  He has lectured international in the areas of thyroid and parathyroid surgery and has been course director and faculty for dozens of US courses.  He has several research manuscripts and other educational publications related to head and neck cancer.
