Dr. Abbott attended the University of Colorado for medical school, and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ. Since then, he has worked as a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician in various practice settings in Colorado, and most recently he splits his clinical time in the ED between The Medical Center of Aurora, which is a busy, urban, high acuity, trauma center in Aurora, CO and Memorial Regional Health which is a rural, critical access hospital in Craig, CO.

His career interest is in high performance teams, resuscitation, critical care, and transport medicine, and he is lucky enough to fulfil all these interests as the Medical Director at AirLife Denver. AirLife Denver is a premier critical care transport company in the Rocky Mountain region that just celebrated their 40^th year in the skies.

When not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Megan, and toddler, Scarlett. He was a former competitive long-distance runner, and these days is an avid mountain biker and skier. He also enjoys international travel and backpacking.
