Dr. Anushka Chelliah received her medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas in Nevis, West Indies. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and finished her Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Chelliah joined Obstetrix Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists in 2020 after spending several successful years in academic practice in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth).  She is additionally an active member of the Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine and serves as a member of the Communications committee and has served as a Scientific Forum Chair. 

Her decision to practice Maternal-Fetal Medicine is based on her ability to provide evidence-based patient care to a high-risk population of patients where the benefits can change the lives of mothers, their babies and families as a whole. She has taken a keen interest in point of care ultrasound and diabetes in pregnancy. Her focus on direct patient care makes her an invaluable partner to our skilled Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists team.

Dr. Chelliah enjoys being an easily accessible resource for high-risk pregnant patients and their OB/GYNs. Dr. Chelliah can be found at our One Fannin location and is proud to serve patients' needs throughout Greater Houston. When she is not caring for her patients, Dr. Chelliah enjoys exploring new places and spending time with her family and little boys.
