This course is intended for internal hospital staff.
Activity Description:
This educational series will address standards of care issues and educate physicians on best practices. Facilitate inter-professional collaboration, discussion, and evidence-based case review related to clinical indications for surgery, treatment plans, and interventions for patients with traumatic injuries and conditions. Provide updates in technology, evidence based medicine and review past cases for improvements in patient outcomes. Additional content includes updates related to trauma and general surgery care, trauma data regarding state and national benchmarking data, and changes made to trauma practice guidelines.
Target Audience:
This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify new trauma practice techniques.
2. Recognize treatment modalities to improve outcomes of trauma patients.
3. Practice patient-centered care in a multi-disciplinary setting.
