Current Concepts in Breast Cancer Screening and Treatment

This course is intended for healthcare professionals who want to stay up-to-date on the latest advances in breast cancer screening and treatment. The goal is to educate primary care providers on the current modalities for breast oncology through the course of disease. Review new standards for breast mammography for women who are high risk and over 40. Discuss the newest technologies around breast mammography. Outline the surgical components and medical oncology components of treatment.This course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills they need to provide the best possible care to their patients with breast cancer. Participants will learn about the latest advances in breast cancer screening and treatment, and they will have the opportunity to develop individualized treatment plans for their patients.

Target Audience

This course is designed for primary care providers, advanced practice providers, nurse practitioners, oncologists, radiologists, surgeons, pathologists, and gynecologists who provide both diagnostic and treatment of patients with breast cancer.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Classify standard breast screening recommendations.
2. Identify high-risk patients.
3. Define treatment protocols for various types of breast cancer.
