Activity Description:

This presentation will review gynecological malignancies. Specifically, we will discuss symptoms indicative of a gynecological malignancy, the elements of an appropriate clinic work-up and indicators for involving gynecologic oncology specialist. Importantly, we will discuss outgoing strategies for early detection and intervention for these diseases.

Target Audience: 

This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Review vague or subtle symptoms that may indicate a Gynecologic malignancy is present
• Discuss high yield components of a preliminary workup
• Recognize when a quick referral is indicated to reduce / eliminate delays in care
