Fluid Management in Trauma Patients
This session will present a case study of a patient requiring surgical intervention following severe trauma. The session will review various types of trauma and the corresponding evidence-based recommendations for resuscitation. The session will address the use of different resuscitation fluids and compare management strategies for adult and pediatric patients with hemorrhagic injuries. Participants will gain practical insights into current trauma care protocols and fluid resuscitation approaches.
Target Audience
This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.

1. Discuss trauma classification and implications for hemorrhage
2. Categorize the degrees of hemorrhage and their associated hemodynamic changes
3. Cover the different kinds of IV fluids available for resuscitation
4. Review the evidence behind resuscitating trauma patients
