Activity Description:

This presentation will focus on the evaluation and management of complex wounds in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Topics include pressure injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, ischemic wounds, venous ulcers, postoperative wound complications, mobility, perfusion, nutrition, and frailty. The session will focus on practical wound assessment, common causes of wound failure, and multidisciplinary strategies to improve outcomes and prevent complications. 

Target Audience: 

This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.

Learning Objectives:

• Differentiate common wound types and recognize key drivers of wound failure.
• Identify when escalation, debridement, vascular evaluation, or offloading is indicated.
• Apply multidisciplinary strategies to improve wound healing and reduce complications.
