Rabies Prevention in South Texas

Upon completion of this event, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of rabies prevention and management, with a specific focus on South Texas. This presentation will provide an in-depth look at the rabies virus, including how the disease is transmitted and its impact on public health. Participants will also learn to effectively assess rabies exposure risks using decision flow charts and apply both pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis protocols. Additionally, the session will present the latest rabies surveillance data from South Texas, equipping participants with critical knowledge to improve disease prevention and response efforts in high-risk regions.
