Activity Description:

Total hip and knee replacements are among the most commonly performed surgeries worldwide, providing relief for millions of patients suffering from debilitating joint pain, arthritis, and other musculoskeletal conditions. As the demand for these procedures continues to rise, the field of orthopedics is undergoing rapid transformation. Surgeons are increasingly adopting innovative technologies to enhance the precision, efficiency, and outcomes of joint replacement surgeries. This session will offer valuable insights into how embracing innovation can lead to better outcomes, enhanced patient experiences, and a brighter future for those undergoing joint replacement procedures. This activity will provide attendees with the knowledge needed to stay at the forefront of technological advancements in total joint replacement surgery and how these innovations can directly benefit their patients.

Target Audience: 

This course is designed for hospitalists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, allied health professionals, physicians and residents.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain how robotic-assisted surgery, computer navigation, and advanced imaging technologies enhance surgical precision in total joint replacement, leading to improved patient outcomes.
  • Asses how new technologies can allow patients' progress to be monitored remotely, contribute to better surgical outcomes and faster recovery times for patients.
  • Identify and describe the latest advances in augmented reality in joint replacement, and the role of AR/AI in improving patient monitoring, recovery, and long-term results post-surgery.
