Wesley Medical Center Pediatric Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (PFCCS) Course - May 2024

Wichita, KS US
May 16, 2024 to May 17, 2024

The goal of this curriculum is to introduce principles important in the initial care of critically ill or injured pediatric patients. This course is focused on educating physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers who are not skilled in pediatric critical care but who must care for critical pediatric patients in anticipation of the arrival of a pediatric intensivist or pending transfer of the patient to a more suitable facility. P‐FCCS meets these goals by providing a balance of didactic lectures and hands‐on skills stations, while building on participants’ basic pediatric knowledge. Some of the unique features of the course include interactive case scenario‐based lectures and skill stations unique to critically ill or injured children, including pediatric mechanical ventilation, pediatric transport, invasive device evaluation and potential complications.
