Their management is complex and often diagnosed late due to lack of specific symptoms during the early stages of the disease. This activity reviews the management of neuroendocrine tumors and highlights the role of the interprofessional team.

Food allergy is defined as an immune reaction to proteins in the food and can be immunoglobulin (Ig)E-mediated or non-IgE-mediated. IgE-mediated food allergy is a worldwide health problem that affects millions of people. Allergic reactions secondary to food ingestion are responsible for a variety of symptoms involving the skin, gastrointestinal tract, and respiratory tract. This activity reviews the prevention and management of food allergies and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in its management.

Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), also called pediatric multi-system inflammatory syndrome temporally related to SARS CoV-2 (PMIS or PIMS-TS), is a potentially serious illness in children that appears to be a delayed, post-infectious complication of COVID-19 infection. MIS-C can present along a spectrum of severity ranging from mild symptoms to shock. This activity is designed for health care providers, to examine the latest advances in the emergency department evaluation and management of MIS-C in children.

Disorders of growth is one of the more common conditions in pediatric endocrinology. Growth disorders can occur for many reasons, which may be hormonal in nature. The epidemiology and typical presentation of patients with Myasthenia Gravis will be discussed. The basic synaptic transmission to the neuromuscular junction will be explained so as to understand the pathophysiology of AChR Antibody Myasthenia Gravis can be understood. Furthermore the description of the MuSK complex will be provided along with an explanation of how targeted antibodies lead to MG. Treatment options for anti-AChR MG and anti-MuSK MG will be compared.
