Dr. Donaldson joined the Mayo Clinic staff in May 2017. Currently, she serves as an associate professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and has a joint appointment in the Department of Neurosurgery. She is also the vice-chair of research, section head of the rhinology and anterior skull base surgery division, and associate program director for the Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery.
Angela Donaldson MD is a fellowship trained surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive surgery for benign and malignant tumors of the skull base and sinuses, inflammatory rhinology, and nasal obstruction. Her special interest is in recalcitrant sinusitis and nasal disease. She has published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on the topics of skull base anatomy and sinus disease and has presented at several national and international meetings.
Dr. Donaldson is actively involved in multiple national societies. She is currently the chair of the Live and Ancillary Course Education Committee for the American Rhinologic Society (ARS) and is Co-Director for the annual ARS Resident Rhinology Dissection course. She is treasurer of Ignite Med, a not-for-profit national organization focused on mentorship and coaching of female medical students. Dr. Donaldson is a member of the Rhinology & Allergy Education Committee as well as the Rhinology & Paranasal Sinus Committee for the academy. She is also the alternate board of governor for Greater Jacksonville ENT Society.
Dr. Donaldson obtained her bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH. She spent the next nine years in Cincinnati, OH where she received her medical degree and completed her Otolaryngology Head and Neck training at the University of Cincinnati. She then completed an Advance Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
