Head & Neck Oncology Symposium 2024

Isle of Palms, SC US
November 8, 2024 to November 9, 2024

The incidence of head and neck cancer in the United States is expected to increase by 12% from 2020 till 2030 (CDC USCS Data). While head and neck cancer accounts for only 4% of all cancers in the United States, the extensive treatment modalities, severe impact on daily living, and high recurrence rate make head and neck cancer one of the most complex oncologic subspecialties to develop within the hospital (American Cancer Society). Clinicians need up to date knowledge of care management for patients with head and neck cancer. We will educate on updates in surgical advances, chemotherapy and immunotherapy developments, clinical trials, radiation therapy, and technology evolution for reconstruction. In addition to covering clinical advancements, we will educate on the multidisciplinary team that is vital to the treatment of head and neck cancer patients. The responsibilities of surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, social workers, nurse navigators, speech and language pathologists, and maxillofacial prosthodontics will be covered at length with panels teaching how to create highly-effective and collaborative multidisciplinary teams.

Target Audience

Clinicians caring for head and neck cancer patients, including but not limited to: ENT, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Endocrinologists, Speech Language Pathologists, Nurse Navigators, Radiation Oncologists, Medical Oncologists, Pathologists, Head & Neck Surgeons, Dentists, Medical Residents, Social Workers, Fellows in Oncologic Specialties.

Learning Objectives

  • Upon conclusion of this symposium, learners should be able to:
