David Neskey, MD
David M. Neskey, M.D., MSCR, FACS is originally from Massachusetts. He received his medical degree from Albany Medical College with a distinction in research in 2006 followed by a residency in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Miami. He then completed a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. This training experience was comprised of two years dedicated to translational science research followed by a year committed to head and neck surgical oncology. He served as an assistant and associate professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina for seven years and served as the Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Fellowship Director at the Medical University of South Carolina for the past year and a half.
Dr Neskey has published over 50 peer reviewed articles and book chapters focused on the molecular pathways and genomic alterations associated with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. In addition, Dr. Neskey has been the principle investigator for several ongoing trials, including a Phase II investigator initiated trial of nivolumab as a presurgical treatment for patients with oral cavity cancer. He has served as co-director of the Cancer Immunology Program of Hollings Cancer Center and was co-program director of the Hollings Cancer Center K12 Paul Calabresi Clinical Oncology Career Development Program. He is also currently funded through the NIH/NIDCR. He is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Head and Neck Society, American Academy of Clinical Research, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
