Gina Scharf, MSN, RN, TCRN
Gina Scharf is a dedicated clinical nursing leader with extensive experience in emergency services, trauma care, air medical operations, and medical communications. With a strong foundation in emergency nursing, she has successfully transitioned into leadership roles within the Trauma Service Line, MAMA Air, and Medical Communications programs. Passionate about enhancing patient outcomes, Gina focuses on performance improvement and the education of both pre-hospital and nursing staff, along with implementing quality assurance initiatives.
Gina holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Nursing Education from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lees McRae College. She began her nursing career with an Associate of Arts in Nursing and has continually pursued professional development through various certifications, including Trauma Certified Registered Nurse and Advanced Trauma Life Support Coordinator.
Currently, Gina serves as the Manager of MAMA Air Medical and Medical Communications at Mission Health in Asheville, NC, where she oversees daily operations, staff management, and performance improvement initiatives for both air and ground transport teams. Her previous roles include Regional Trauma Clinical Coordinator and Team Leader in the Emergency Department, where she led evidence-based practice initiatives and coordinated trauma care across a 17-county region.
Gina is involved in professional organizations, including the American Burn Association and the Society of Trauma Nurses, and has contributed to multiple educational initiatives and presentations at national conferences. Her commitment to nursing excellence and leadership in trauma care continues to make a significant impact in her field.
