Carrie Underwood, RN, BSN, CFRN, CPEN
Carrie began her career in healthcare in 1999 as a paramedic for Buncombe County EMS. In 2006, she transitioned to a flight medic role with Mountain Area Medical Airlift (MAMA), where she gained invaluable experience in air medical services. Carrie continued her education, earning an Associate's in Nursing in 2011, and soon after began working in the Emergency Room at Mission Hospital.
In 2014, Carrie was hired as a full-time flight nurse, a position she held for the next ten years. Her passion for pediatrics led her to transition to the pediatric field in January 2024, where she could focus on her lifelong interest in caring for children. Throughout her career, Carrie has been dedicated to education, teaching at both the community college and university levels, as well as conducting certification classes and presenting at conferences.
Carrie is also a proud mother of two children. Her oldest is pursuing a degree in aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and her youngest is studying Criminal Justice at the University of Tampa.
